The Association’s premises are the Fine Arts Gallery are managed by Gino Sanguinetti of the Gibraltar Cultural Services.  

They are located at Units 13B & 14B, The Balcony, Casemates Square, Gibraltar.

Two galleries and a workshop space are available to hire by members of the Fine Arts Association.

Terms and Conditions of Hire

  1. The hiring will only be secured on receipt of payment.
  2. Persons using the gallery must be members of the Fine Arts Association (F.A.). Membership can be obtained on application of hiring. 
  3. A sample portfolio (this may be online) of the artist’s works to be exhibited must be submitted to the F.A.A. and the committee will determine whether the works are suitable, before an application of hire can be confirmed.
  4. The gallery opening hours are Mondays to Fridays l0am to 2pm and 3pm to 6pm (this excludes weekends and public holidays as published by the Government of Gibraltar). Summer hours may be implemented during July and August. 
  5. The exhibitions will be manned by the F.A.A. during normal working hours as stipulated in section 4. If an artist wishes to man their own exhibition or have an agent do so, this has to be previously arranged with the F.A.A. A daily report of sales has to be handed in to the F.A.A. 
  6. The hirer will be responsible for the hanging and displaying of all artwork and its removal on completion. The F.A.A. may provide the hirer with hanging materials when available. However, the artist is advised to seek appropriate materials accordingly.
  7. The hirer will be responsible for all marketing, invitations, refreshments, light snacks and/or drinks and any other expenses related to the exhibition (No cooking is allowed in the gallery).
  8. The F.A.A. sends e-mail invitations to all its members and will advertise in social media.
  9. If any activity or display within the exhibition is subject to copyright, it will be solely the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the copyright holder’s permission is obtained. Proof of payment of fees due to the performing rights society, or any other entity, must be produced at the signing of the agreement and at any other time when it may be demanded by the F.A.A.
  10. The F.A.A. has a public liability insurance in place.
  11. It is strongly recommended that all exhibits be adequately insured. Irrespective of any insurance policies held by the F.A.A., it will not make itself responsible for any damage or loss howsoever caused.
  12. The exhibitor must ensure that none of the exhibits contravene any law.
  13. All entries must be collected within the week following the end of the exhibition. Works not collected will be disposed of at the discretion of the organisers.
  14. The hirer must reimburse the full cost of repairing or replacing any items damaged or broken during the hiring.
  15. The above conditions can be altered at the F.A.A.’s discretion.

Schedule of Charges

  1. Deposit: A deposit of £125 for each gallery must be received by the Fine Arts Association (F.A.A.) at the time of the booking. The hiring will only be secured on receipt of this payment. This deposit will be refunded, after the event, only if it is established to the satisfaction of the F.A.A. that no damage or loss whatsoever has been caused. The hirer must reimburse the full cost of repairing or replacing any items damaged or broken during the hiring and must leave the facilities in a clean and tidy condition. This deposit is not refundable if the booking is cancelled by the hirer.
  2. Hire fee where material is NOT for sale: For exhibitions where material being exhibited is not for sale, the hire fee for each gallery will be £125 per week. The hiring will only be secured on receipt of this payment. 
  3. Hire fee where material is for sale: For exhibitions where material being exhibited is for sale, this includes book launches, cards, prints etc. the hire fee will be a minimum of £ 125 per week per gallery or 20% commission of the gross sales proceeds, whichever is the larger. All sales will be handled by the F.A.A. and the hirer will be reimbursed after the event.  
  4. Hire fee for corporate events after normal opening hours: For corporate events after normal opening hours the hire fee for the two galleries will be £175 per day. 
  5. All payments to be made out to the F.A.A.
